I'm having trouble with my cherry shrimp not surviving beyond their first shed, any ideas? affraid

Do they have anywhere to hide? Could be getting too stressed as they're vulnerable when shedding.

If your water is very soft, perhaps there is not enough calcium for the development of the new shell.

What are your water parameters?

Also, I believe that Cherries can have difficulty shedding in water that is too hard. Check the hardess of their water What a Face

I had exactly this trouble with my cherries, though I thought it was due to lack of safe places for them to hide
( previous tank).
Having some quite dense foliage for them to scurry to def seems to make them happier and more secure. which must help when they are shedding
