Hi I'm Mel, I am going to try and put a picture of my crab Bubba on here for you. He is approx 5 years old and lives in his own tank which is half sand and half water. The problem I have with him is that every few months he nips through the cables of both the heater and the pump; does anyone have a solution to this??

Oh yeh my mum had these cable tidys for her tv wires etc , It was a plastic grey tube type which u fit the other cables into & then the crab wouldn't be able to touch the wires.
Good idea T !

Cable tidys work well, or you could lift the heater and pump slightly out of the water and wrap duct tape around the dry part of the wire. It could then be covered with the cable tidy for extra defence.

I’ve tried duct tape before but this did not help it just took him a bit longer to get through it. Thanks everyone for the cable tidy idea, this is certainly worth a try, I’ll get some the weekend and let you know how it goes.
I have tried to upload some photos but I’m not very tec minded and they don’t seem to have come out.
