| Odd question this one, but are they breedable in home aquariums? I know they are basically freshwater welks, but are the larvae still planktonic like nerites? | |

| Hello! Yes you can easily breed Assassin snails. They lay eggs in little rectangular parcels - about 1mm long - in cracks and crevices on rocks and ornaments mainly. I have found that they only really lay 1 at a time. The eggs take a while to hatch and then the babies disappear into the substrate. They do not emerge again until about 4-5mm in my experience. They will eat shrimp pellets if you dont have any snails small enough to eat to begin with. Hope this helps! | |

| I'm sure that they'll breed in fresh water, as a few days ago I found a very little one moving on the substrate. It's exactly like the "big" ones, but a miniture. The tank is well planted & there are about 15 Assassin snails, together with Nerites & other fish. | |

| Sounds like something to try then! Tiny babies must be worth it. | |

| I understand, the photos are very good! Well timed.
Males then have a penis like apple snails. | |

| Well taken & detailed pictures, DobermannCZ. Mine are always in two's & you rarely see one on it's own. | |
