Daphnia & Cherry Shrimps. Empty
PostSubject: Daphnia & Cherry Shrimps.   Daphnia & Cherry Shrimps. Icon_minitimeMon Mar 16, 2009 1:36 pm

I have a small Cherry Shrimp tank & they reproduce regularly. I've just got a good culture of Daphnia & would like to know if I can add the Daphnia in the Cherry Shrimp tank. Do the Cherries harm the Daphnia or the other way round?.

Thanks alot.

As the Cherries aren't filter feeders, they should be fine with the Daphnia. I dont think they will predate on them, they are mainly scavengers and just pick at food, they dont hunt it. Hope this helps. Very Happy

Thanks alot for your reply. The Cherries look fine, but there's not much Daphnia left. I was told that they only live for a few days & there might be some eggs, which will hatch........ I don't think & never saw any Cherries eating Daphnia, so they're not the culprits. Smile
